Bengaluru | Dec 2019–Mar 2022; Dec 2022–Dec 2024
I helped establish and grow the India engineering group for high-performance computing software used with Adaptive AUTOSAR. I set up team responsibilities and delivery practices, and coordinated plans and releases with Elektrobit’s global product teams.
I owned backlogs and release planning for middleware components, aligning development with product roadmaps and automotive requirements. I also helped assess third-party open-source software for safety-related platforms, mentored engineers and supported project-management training across international teams.
Aptiv — Engineering Manager
Bengaluru | Mar 2022–Sep 2022
I managed customer delivery for Classic AUTOSAR diagnostic software modules.
KPIT — Manager
Bengaluru | Apr 2018–Dec 2019
I managed automotive engineering work across ADAS and functional safety, including customer requirements, proposals, SOWs and project planning. I also supported hiring, mentoring and performance reviews for engineers, technical leads and architects.
A key project was a pedestrian emergency braking system developed to ISO 26262 ASIL A requirements. I oversaw safety requirements and analysis, design reviews, safety documentation, testing, confirmation reviews and safety assessments, and kept customer stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
EY India — Assistant Director, Technology Innovation Lab
Thiruvananthapuram | Aug 2017–Apr 2018
I led emerging-technology exploration and rapid prototyping, helping teams take ideas through proof of concept. I also managed deployment of an NLP chatbot that helped employees find information about HR and travel processes.
Robert Bosch — Senior Project Manager
Coimbatore | Mar 2015–Jul 2017
I managed end-to-end software delivery for Suzuki’s infotainment head unit, coordinating development from planning through launch and post-launch support. My work included requirements and release planning, feature prioritisation, field issue follow-up, navigation interface and map updates, supplier coordination, and collaboration with engineering teams in India and Germany and customer stakeholders in India and Japan.
I worked on the navigation HMI and map-update process, including a web-portal workflow for customer map updates. I also introduced the Innovation Box and an internal idea-management portal to give employees a way to submit and develop ideas.
HCL Technologies — Senior Technical Lead
India | Jun 2012–Mar 2015
I led technical definition and delivery of telecom software, including embedded C development using the GSM protocol stack. My work included software architecture, interface definition, multithreaded components, real-time data handling over UDP, and integration of software running across Linux and Windows. I also mentored engineers, interviewed candidates and supported hiring and onboarding.
UK engineering and R&D experience
Motorola and Nokia Siemens Networks — Software Engineering
United Kingdom | Nov 2007–Jun 2012
I developed and maintained embedded software for GSM Base Station Subsystem products in C on VxWorks. My work covered Radio Subsystem and GSM Layer 2 software, new feature development, code reviews, integration, testing and maintenance. During this period, the Networks division moved from Motorola to Nokia Siemens Networks.
Projects I worked on included:
- Abis over IP: I led integration testing for hardware boards and firmware. I created automated tests for network interfaces, Ethernet configuration, traffic handling and device services, and carried out packet verification and load testing.
- EGPRS improvements: I implemented changes to support larger and configurable window sizes in GPRS/EGPRS Radio Link Control.
- Higher class and timeslot support: I added Packet Control Unit functionality for additional downlink timeslots and higher multislot classes, and developed component tests using a base-station simulator.
- Element Manager integration: I led software integration between a base station and its Element Manager, covering fault reporting, hardware supervision, configuration and alarm information. I also supported integration testing and onsite work with the wider team.
I led a software process-improvement working group and helped introduce Scrum practices alongside the existing development process.
Pera International — R&D Engineer and Technical Lead
United Kingdom | Apr 2005–Nov 2007
At Pera, I worked on applied research and product development projects with UK and European industry and university partners, including Cranfield University. I combined technical development with project coordination, customer presentations and technical reviews.
- TyreCheck: I was technical lead for a European research project on tyre-wear monitoring. I designed an ultrasonic sensor to detect tyre tread depth and developed the data-acquisition system using LabVIEW and C. The work resulted in a UK patent for tyre-wear monitoring.
- Sustain: I led a collaborative project with Cranfield University on predictive monitoring for water-treatment machinery. We developed vibration-based monitoring that analysed the machine’s vibro-acoustic behaviour to identify its condition. I designed an online monitoring system using LabVIEW and MATLAB, with data collected from remote nodes and feedback provided to operators.
- Triton: I contributed to the development of a low-power wireless shower control system intended to simplify installation and operation. I worked on embedded C software using a Jennic wireless microcontroller and IEEE 802.15.4 communications.
Current initiatives and independent projects
Empower Global Tech AI
Alongside my engineering career, I co-founded Empower Global Tech AI. I continue to support partnership discussions and the practical work involved in developing its education and technology initiatives:
- LeadingIndia.AI — AI education, research and industry collaboration.
- AlgorithmGuru — coding practice and problem-solving for students.
- TrackFuture.ai — accessible coverage of technology, research and future-facing developments.
ManujG Labs and AI experiments
I continue to tinker with AI, engineering and product ideas through ManujG Labs. Some experiments become public tools or write-ups; others remain private while I explore whether they solve a useful problem. Public examples include an Indian IT scenario simulator, a Bengaluru traffic-risk calendar, technology tender intelligence, and an STM32H7 ADC simulator. I have also written about my AI-assisted coding workflow and rapid prototyping of an ADC digital twin. Some private experiments have involved AI-assisted software development and testing practical ways to run AI models on low-cost infrastructure.
DelhiLive.com
Earlier in my career, I started DelhiLive as a part-time hobby project. I worked with freelance journalists and writers to create content about Delhi.
